Stevie's Cottage sleeps five persons and is situated amongst a group of cottages in Mannal Tiree and is a rebuilt black house. It directly cottage overlooks a sandy beach. Stevie's cottage was real treat; it was cosy and comfortable and fully equipped with everything we needed. The beachside location was perfect.The location of the cottage is stunning, with the most amazing views across the bay. The beaches were beautiful; the sea is clear and turquoise.We had the experience of a lifetime, when kayaking in the bay outside the cottage, amongst the basking sharks. These incredible gentle giants took our breath away - there really are no words to describe the feeling; what a privilege for us!We cycled and walked, visited the excellent local craft studios and the pub, spent lots of time on the beach and in the sea and generally relaxed. We saw lots of other wildlife too, including seals and the secretive Corncrake !I think you can tell what a fantastic time we had. You can be certain we will return one day! We loved tumbling out of the cottage straight onto a glorious beach and never got bored with the view, as the changing weather and the light, produced some amazing colours in the landscape. We watched otters play on the rocks from our doorstep; seals swam in the bay; and not only did I see a famously elusive corncrake, I actually gor a picture of one! It's a great spot! Althought the weather was cold, there were clear blue skies most of the week and when the wind went, from Tuesday morning, it felt very pleasant, we even had our lunch outside on Friday! The island is so peaceful, the children loved the beaches,( especially Balevoulin and Balephuil ) and I really enjoyed my morning walk along the beach at Balephuil before the others got up. Hi Bob, thank-you for letting us hire Mackays cottage for a fortnight for our honeymoon. the cottage and location was great. We loved being able to see (and hear) the sea and enjoyed having an evening drink in the garden or a couple minutes walk to the magnificent beach. Some sheep kept us well amused most mornings by coming into the garden to eat the grass! Tiree is a wonderful island...deserted beaches, millions of flowers and birds everywhere. It is the most peaceful tranquil place we’ve ever been to and is truely a beautiful island. We’ll definitely be visiting Tiree again.. Many thanks again. We have just returned from a very relaxing week in Mackays cottage. The cottage was very comfortable and had some terrific views out to sea especially when the surf was up. It was also delightful to watch the young lambs and calves playing in the fields. We very much enjoyed the friendly atmosphere on the island and all the various craft shops dotted around but particularly enjoyed the beautifull beaches.....(

We had a lovely time at Skerryvore chalet with perfect weather all week,the bird life all around the island was amazing as well as seeing basking sharks, not far from the chalet for the first time.
The views from the top of the hill by the radar dome are outstanding.
